My name is Jack Shane, and I am currently a PhD student in Economics at Stanford University. Previously, I served as a predoctoral research assistant to Grant Miller at Stanford University's Department of Health Policy, where I focused on development economics, demographic economics, and researched labor trafficking.
I graduated cum laude from Bowdoin College in 2022 with a double major in Economics (with high honors) and Mathematics.
My main research interests are in development and labor economics, as well as applied microeconomic techniques. I also love learning about the history of economic thought.
In my free time, I love tending to my houseplants and garden (currently growing tomatoes, onions, peppers, thyme, basil, peppermint, peas, and lemons), cats, hiking, cooking, golfing, listening to folk music, and watching my Los Angeles Angels finish 80-82 every year.
